East End & Warm Springs

East End & Warm Springs

The historic East End is nestled at the base of the Foothills. Some of the area’s first subdivisions were established in the East End, with many of the homes taking advantage of the geothermal water – of Warm Springs Avenue fame – to provide heat. Just minutes away from downtown Boise, Table Rock, the Idaho Botanical Gardens, the Old Idaho Penitentiary, and multiple foothills paths, it’s easy to get away!

Warm Springs Avenue has the distinction of having the first home in the nation to be heated with geothermal water in 1891. Many other stately homes were built along the street, taking advantage of the natural hot water being pumped in from east of Table Rock.
